Google is removing nearly 900,000 “abandoned” apps from Google Play
The main criterion is the absence of app updates for the last two years. The main reason why both companies have declared war on applications with no updates for a long time is for security reasons.
Old apps do not meet all the innovations of the latest versions of Android and iOS, they disregard new APIs and development methods that provide improved security. So, old apps considered to be not as secure as newer ones.
